The Search For Table Mountain.Round #1Our GOAL was to do the Bonneville to Table Mountain Hike - which is extra long, extra steep and VERY difficult (allegedly). We parked at the Bonneville Trailhead and there were no other cars there. Then we started our hike. We got a few hours into it and we were totally lost. There was no one around to ask for a very long time. Then we came across a couple hikers who suggested we drive to Bonneville Hotsprings and start the hike up to Table Mountain from there for "easier" access. So we ran back to the car to do so. When we got back to the car, my locks had been popped out and a bunch of my stuff was stolen. I was so heartbroken. This was the first and only time anything shitty has happened to me while hiking. It made me so frustrated. We didn't end up going to the Hotsprings that day but we did get a fairly good hike in and lots of pictures!
Round #2A second attempt to find Table Mountain - this time starting at the Bonneville Hotsprings Parking Lot. Like Multnomah Falls, I love this trailhead because you can grab a Yerbe Matte Latte from the coffee shop in the Spa before hitting the trails. You have to go in anyway to purchase your 5$ parking pass.
So we head off on the trail using our cellphones for guidance. Again, no one around to ask directions. And again - we got lost. It started to get really cold and kinda rainy on us so we forfeited the hike and went home. One day we'll find the top!!!!!!

AuthorMy love for hiking began after I took a celebration graduation trip to Oahu, Hawaii in 2014 and went on three awesome hikes in the warm tropical weather. Favorite Links:Archives
